Coding the Wheel is maintained by a guy living somewhere in the United States, who spends his time doing six things:
- Software (programming it; using it; complaining about it)
- Poker (and other real-money games of skill)
- Music (composition)
- Writing (blogging, mainly, and occasional fiction)
- Games (of all shapes and descriptions)
- Various other obsessions and addictions.
My resume says “11+ years commercial software development expertise” but that’s the scrubbed version. My real resume reads more like this:
- 10 years experience at the poker tables, live and online, underground and above-board. I believe every programmer (and every person) should play poker. Someday I’ll explain why.
- 15 years experience writing music. If you were in Dallas, Texas ten years ago, you might even have heard some of my stuff on the radio. But I hope not, for your sake. Since then, I’ve switched over to composition exclusively.
- 11+ years software development experience, from desktop applications to websites.
- A lifelong fascination with games of skill, contests, sports, tips, tricks, exploits, and the “game-ability” of life in general.
If you’re interested in (any of) these topics, then hopefully within these pages you’ll find a complete set of working notes, tips and tricks, philosophy, rants and raves, and specific how-tos on these and other obsessions.
